Police Await Forensic Report Of Cellphones In Mir Raza Murder Case

A judicial magistrate on Monday granted 14 days to the investigating officer to submit the final probe report in the high-profile case pertaining to the alleged abduction and murder of young businessman Mir Raza Ali.

The investigating officer (IO), DSP Sirajuddin Lashari, appeared before the judicial magistrate (East) and filed an application requesting additional time to complete the challan. He stated that the investigation into the Mir Raza case was still underway from multiple angles.

Updating the court on the financial probe, the IO said details of the deceased businessman's Binance account had been obtained, while further requests had been made to trace accounts he frequently traded with. Applications seeking details of Mir Raza's bank accounts and other financial platforms have also been filed in court, with a hearing set for October 1.

The IO further submitted that police are yet to receive the forensic reports of the mobile phones belonging to Mir Raza's fiancée, his business partner Muhammad Ahmed Bhardey, his brother Abdullah, and Dr. Osama, who performed the initial post-mortem examination. Arguing for the extension, the magistrate accepted the plea and allowed 14 days for the submission of the final report.
