Admiral Ashraf Highlights Legacy Of Operation Somnath

Pakistan Navy commemorated Navy Day on Tuesday, recalling the valour of its naval warriors during the 1965 War and honouring the enduring legacy of courage, professional excellence and sacrifice carried forward by successive generations in defence of the motherland. In his message on the occasion, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf stated that historic Operation Somnath demonstrated how a resolute maritime force, driven by courage and conviction, could achieve decisive effects despite numerical and material constraints.

He said the legacy of courage and conviction established during Operation Somnath continues to endure, as reflected once again in Pakistan Navy's successful deterrence against Indian Navy during Marka-e-Haq. The Navy Day commenced with Quran Khawani and special prayers for martyrs. Admiral Ashraf laid floral wreath at Martyrs Monument, Naval Headquarters Islamabad, and met with martyrs families, acknowledging their sacrifices and resilience.

The Navy Day commemorations were also held across the country.
