Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey's much-anticipated reunion in theatres for Sunday in the Park with George has now been shelved until 2028. The pop superstar and her Wicked co-star both exited the project recently and Empire Street Productions has now announced that they are putting it off.
The announcement detailed that the production company will revisit the project in 2028, and more information will be revealed in due course. While some theatre fans were infuriated, one fan wrote, "They knew they couldn't go on without the queen," and another agreed, "Cancelling it now so Ariana and Jonathan can rejoin in 2028."
A third blamed the critics, writing, "All the people who bullied Ariana into exiting the project and going into hiding have now ruined this production for everyone."
Whereas more were hopeful that "Ariana & Jonathan can resume it in a few years," with one exclaiming, "THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED!!!!! NOW RENEW IT WITH THEM WHEN THEY'RE AVAILABLE TOGETHER OMG."
