The Cabinet Committee on Disposal of Legislative Cases on Monday approved proposed amendments to the Civil Servants Act, 1973, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Act, 1974, the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), 1860, and the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), 1898, subject to incorporation of its recommendations and necessary changes. The meeting of the committee was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar and was attended by senior officials of the relevant ministries, departments and divisions.

The committee reviewed various proposed legislative amendments as well as legal and administrative matters. It approved the proposed amendments to the Civil Servants Act, 1973, subject to incorporation of necessary amendments. The proposed amendments to the FIA Act, 1974, were also approved, subject to incorporation of the committee's recommendations and required changes.

The committee further approved proposed amendments to the PPC and CrPC, subject to incorporation of its recommendations and necessary amendments. It deferred consideration of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (Amendment) Bill, 2026. The committee also approved proposed amendments to the Immigration Rules, 1979.

Meanwhile, a proposal to enhance penalties for overloading under the National Highways Safety Ordinance, 2000 was withdrawn. Senior officials from the relevant ministries, departments and divisions participated in the meeting.
