Chief Justice of Pakistan, in his capacity as Chairman of the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee (NJPMC), on Friday held a consultative meeting with representatives of the Punjab Bar Council and Islamabad Bar Council at the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The meeting formed part of the ongoing consultative process initiated by the apex court, aimed at developing a uniform and standardized national framework for e-filing across the Supreme Court, high courts, and district courts.

The meeting was attended by members of the Punjab Bar Council and Islamabad Bar Council. The CJP underscored that the bar, being the primary user of the proposed framework, is a key partner in the development of standardized e-filing templates and their successful implementation across judicial strata. He urged participants to provide valuable practical input to ensure the system remains responsive, accessible, and user-friendly.

Representatives from both bar councils welcomed the initiative, sharing practical suggestions regarding standardized templates, electronic case records, digital document submission, case tracking, technical support, training, digital infrastructure, and data security. It was decided that a committee comprising registrars of all high courts and two members nominated by each provincial bar council and the Islamabad Bar Council would review and finalize the templates.

Once finalized, the templates will be placed before the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee for consideration and policy directions, according to an official press release. Separately, the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan hosted a one-day training session on safety and emergency preparedness to strengthen existing security arrangements, enhance fire safety awareness, and improve the capacity of officials to respond promptly to emergencies. Muhammad Ahsan, Director of the Capital Emergency Service at the Capital Development Authority (CDA), briefed participants on Islamabad's emergency response system and established procedures for ensuring coordinated action during crises.
