DERA ISMAIL KHAN/BATKHELA: Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi said on Sunday that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government did not want confrontation with the federal government but wanted terrorism eliminated, peace established and lives of soldiers, police personnel and civilians protected. "The federal government must recognise the gravity of situation and consult those who understand the issue instead of repeatedly pursuing the same approach behind closed doors," he said while talking to the media at the Al-Amin House during his visit to Dera Ismail Khan.
He visited a hospital and inquired about the health of those injured in the terrorist attack on Aman Mela Checkpost the previous day, which claimed 14 lives. The chief minister announced that the October 4 long march would be "the biggest in the history of Pakistan".
