Daisy Edgar-Jones may have taken home more than just memories from Twisters; the actress believes the storm-chasing blockbuster may have left her partially deaf in one ear. During an appearance on Jake Shane's Therapuss podcast, the actress revealed that the intense filming conditions, characterized by constant wind and flying debris, affected her hearing.
"I think I am still slightly deaf in my left ear because there was so much debris and wind entering from that side," she explained. "It was quite ironic because we were shooting in Oklahoma and often had to halt production due to actual wind storms, only to recreate them once they passed.
It was a wild experience." Released in 2024, Twisters brought audiences back to the world of storm chasing nearly 30 years after the original film. Despite the physical toll, Edgar-Jones embraced the adrenaline.
In 2024, she told The Hollywood Reporter that the project sparked a new passion for stunts. "It was stunt-heavy and I had never done proper stunts before.
I am a bit addicted now - I've got the bug," she said. "We had a phenomenal stunt department that kept us safe while immersing us in the action." The film required the cast to undergo extensive physical preparation to handle the rigorous action sequences safely.
Director Lee Isaac Chung praised the dedication of the entire cast, noting that the physical demands were exceptionally high throughout the principal photography. Fans of the original 1996 film welcomed the sequel warmly, appreciating the modern visual effects and the compelling performances of the new lead actors.
