Dolly Parton's Hollywood Walk of Fame star has been scratched up - and fans won't have to look at the vandalised tribute for long. The country legend's star was reportedly defaced with scratches following her death at 80 on August 25. Crews were already working Tuesday, September 1, to replace the damaged star, according to CBS Los Angeles and NBC Los Angeles. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce confirmed the repairs are underway.

"A fan went to the star yesterday and reported on social that the star was vandalized with many scratches," Ana Martinez, spokesperson for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, said. "From the photo she posted, it does appear the star was vandalized with scratches." "This repair was set up late last week and the crew just completed the first part of making said repairs," Martinez added.

The star repairs are currently ongoing and are done by the Hollywood Historic Trust which maintains and repairs the Walk of Fame stars. The star will cure and will be polished on Friday for fans to enjoy. Parton received the Hollywood honor in 1985 alongside Sylvester Stallone, years before becoming one of the biggest names in country music and entertainment.

Her death was announced August 25, with her team later revealing that she had been diagnosed with cancer. Beyond her music and film career, Parton leaves behind a massive philanthropic legacy. Her Imagination Library has distributed more than 200 million books worldwide since launching in 1995. Now, as crews restore her star, fans will soon have a polished reminder of the icon whose legacy was anything but scratched out.
