The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are set to return for royal engagements this week, with Prince Edward travelling to Switzerland while Sophie takes on a series of causes close to her heart. The Duke will begin the week with a visit to Switzerland on 6 September. Sophie, meanwhile, has a particularly busy few days ahead.
On 7 September, she will attend the University of West London's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Partnership Charter Launch. Her schedule will then take her to Cumbria for a two-day visit on 8 and 9 September, where she will champion British farming in her role as Patron of the Addington Fund.
During the trip, Sophie is expected to meet members of the farming community and visit a number of local businesses and farms, including Home Grown Here and The Butchers Arms. Her itinerary will also feature a Royal Countryside Fund event, followed by visits to Whin's Farm, Low Beckside Farm, Nook Farm and Seatoller Farm.
This comprehensive royal tour highlights the commitment of the British royal family towards promoting educational inclusivity and supporting the agricultural sector across various regions.
