Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo experienced a terrifying night when police suddenly arrived at their London home in the middle of the night. The couple and their eight-month-old son Ziggy were asleep when their doorbell started ringing around midnight. Sophie said they were confused and shocked to see police officers outside. Jamie looked out of the window and saw officers waiting at their door, initially worrying whether they could truly trust the people outside.
However, the police informed them that a nearby alarm had gone off and they suspected someone might be in their garden. 'I was terrified, it was pretty scary,' Jamie said. Officers entered the house, searched the premises and the garden, and checked a neighboring home. Later, Jamie and Sophie grew concerned that the basement had not been thoroughly inspected.
Police returned, this time accompanied by sniffer dogs that ran through the house while officers checked every area. Fortunately, no intruder was found and no break-in had occurred. Ultimately, the frightening incident turned out to be a false alarm, leaving the family relieved after hours of intense anxiety and uncertainty.
The couple later shared details of the ordeal on their podcast, reflecting on how quickly a peaceful night can turn upside down. They praised the local police for taking the security alert seriously and ensuring their family was safe, while acknowledging the emotional toll the unexpected midnight emergency had taken on them.
