Jennifer Garner has opened up about her tough financial struggles following the breakdown of her marriage to Ben Affleck, revealing that she had to prioritise motherhood over her career. It is pertinent to mention that the star, 54, split from fellow actor Ben, also 54, in 2015.
During an appearance on Aspire with Emma Grede on Tuesday, Jennifer admitted that after a decade of marriage, she had stepped back from her career while raising their three children. 'I panicked when I was first out of my marriage and realised I had taken such a step back in my work,' she shared.
She added that she suddenly realised she did not know how long she would be able to work in an industry where ageing does not typically guarantee higher pay. 'This isn't a career that's like, hey, you're 60, you're 55, you're 43 - come on, let's pay you more,' she noted.
Jennifer and Ben married in June 2005 and share three children, Violet, 20, Fin, 17, and Samuel, 14, whose upbringing became the primary focus of the actress during her hiatus from major film projects.
