King Charles enjoyed a quieter Sunday at Balmoral as he stepped out for worship with Queen Camilla and Princess Anne, giving onlookers an unexpected royal treat along the way. The trio made the short journey from the Scottish estate to Crathie Kirk, the church traditionally attended by the Royal Family during their stays at Balmoral.

Instead of their familiar Land Rover, the royals travelled in a burgundy Bentley Limousine created for Queen Elizabeth's golden jubilee known as the state car. Charles, Camilla and Anne have remained at Balmoral after other members of the family began their journeys home from their summer breaks in the Highlands.

The Prince and Princess of Wales had spent time in Scotland with their children, while Zara and Mike Tindall also enjoyed a family stay before returning earlier this week. The extended family members have gradually concluded their annual summer holidays in the Scottish highlands, leaving the monarch to enjoy a more peaceful environment.

Such royal outings to Crathie Kirk are a long-standing tradition for the British monarch while staying at the Balmoral estate. Local well-wishers often gather along the route to catch a glimpse of the royal family members attending the Sunday service.
