SUKKUR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Friday called for a nationwide mobilisation on Sept 27 for the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan as he led a party convoy through Jacobabad and Shahdadkot, alleging that court orders concerning Khan's medical treatment were being disregarded.

The convoy, which included Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Barrister Salman Akram Raja, MNA Makhdoomzada Zain Hussain Qureshi, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar, provincial ministers Meena Khan Afridi and Shafi Jan, MNAs Amir Dogar and Adil Bazai, among other central leaders including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh General Secretary Dr Masroor Siyal, party leader Mola Bakhsh Soomro, Larkana Division President Dr Iqrar Jakhrani, Sardar Mohammad Ali Hakro and other provincial office-bearers, received an enthusiastic welcome from party workers and supporters in Jacobabad, Shikarpur and other areas.

Addressing a gathering in Shahdadkot, Afridi alleged that three Supreme Court judges had issued an order for Imran Khan's treatment but the jail officials ignored it. He said the courts also ordered shifting Khan to Shifa International Hospital, but the authorities refused to comply, he alleged.

He said Khan was incarcerated in jail for the sake of the country and its people and was now looking towards the nation. Urging supporters to join the Sept 27 mobilisation, Afridi said people across the country would come out, adding that Sept 27 will decide where the people stand.
