Mika Abdalla teases what's ahead for Allie and Dean in 'Off Campus' season 2

Mika Abdalla is opening up about what's ahead for her character, Allie Hayes, as Off Campus heads into its second season on Amazon Prime Video. The series, based on Elle Kennedy's Off Campus book series, centers on an elite college hockey team and the women in their orbit as they navigate love and self-discovery, with Season 1 primarily focused on Hannah and Garrett's fake-dating storyline, while teasing Allie's budding relationship with Dean, played by Stephen Kalyn, ahead of schedule compared to the books.

Speaking about what's coming next, Abdalla said fans should expect the show to keep building on that dynamic without rushing to resolve it. "Even though we do tease Dean and Allie a lot earlier than people expect, you are still left wanting a lot more," she said. "And that's something I'm really excited about. You just want to see more."

She explained that expanding Allie and Dean's story made sense given how interconnected Kennedy's books are with one another. "All the books, they build off of each other and they're all connected. It didn't really make sense to not include certain elements from the other books in this season."

Abdalla, who originally auditioned for the role of Hannah before landing the part of Allie, described the character as a scene-stealing personality by design. "In the development of Allie, she has this larger-than-life personality. She's very much the center of attention. She's very much just a ball of energy most of the time," she said. "When I heard they wanted to bring me back for Allie and I finally got a hold of the scripts, it was just right. And everything kind of fell into place, in a really good way."

Co-showrunner Louisa Levy has said Season 2 was roughly a quarter of the way through filming as of earlier this summer, with new elements being folded into the story beyond what appeared in the books, including changes to the timeline of Allie and Dean's relationship and the fallout from the Hunter Davenport twist introduced at the end of Season 1.
