Nawaz Pledges Funds For Kaghan Valley's Conservation

MANSEHRA: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday said he would ask Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to allocate special funds for preserving the natural beauty and environment of Kaghan Valley. "I have travelled here by road and enjoyed the natural beauty of the valley, and would ask PM Shehbaz Sharif to take an initiative for the preservation of natural beauty and soothing environment of Saiful Malook Lake," said Nawaz Sharif while speaking to a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) delegation that met him in Naran, the commercial hub of Kaghan Valley. The delegation, led by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Balakot tehsil president Mohammad Farooq, also apprised Nawaz Sharif of party and tourism-related issues in the valley. Nawaz Sharif reached the tourist resort of Naran along with his son Hassan Nawaz and his family on Friday to spend the weekend. The former prime minister, who later in the day left Naran for Babusar Top along with his family for a recreational trip, said that he had laid the foundation of Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road blacktopping to promote tourism and connect Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with Gilgit-Baltistan. "I would ask the prime minister to evolve a comprehensive strategy for blacktopping of the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad road and address the soaring challenges to natural beauty of Saiful Malook Lake," he added. The former premier said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers should remain in touch with the people and share the party's message with them. Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Farooq, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) tehsil president, said the provincial government had not spent funds on the promotion of tourism in Kaghan Valley. "The MNJ and other roads are in a highly dilapidated condition and affecting tourism and ecology adversely in the valley," he added.
