Nicole Kidman has made a surprise cameo in Troye Sivan's music video for his new single She's the Best, marking her first music video appearance in 25 years and reuniting her with the singer eight years after they co-starred in 2018's Boy Erased.
The video, directed by Gordon Von Steiner, dropped Friday, August 14, and quickly racked up 700,000 views. In the roughly four-minute visual, Kidman, 59, plays Sivan's glamorous muse, strutting down a city street in a black leather dress, oversized sunglasses and a sparkling fringe jacket while smoking a cigarette before entering a drag club.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Sivan explained why Kidman was his first and only choice for the role, describing her as embodying the "divine feminine." Fans reacted with a mix of surprise and delight online, with one popular comment reading, "Nicole Kidman in a Troye Sivan video was not on my bingo card but I really love it."
The cameo marks Kidman's first music video appearance since 2001's Somethin' Stupid with Robbie Williams, and only her second ever, following a 1983 appearance in Australian singer Pat Wilson's Bop Girl when she was just 15. She's the Best serves as the lead single from Sivan's upcoming fourth studio album of the same name, due out October 9.
