Olivia Rodrigo Unveils Women's Empowerment Track Ahead Of Music Fest

Pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo has announced the release of a special song supporting women's empowerment ahead of her all-women Daisy Chain Fields festival. The 23-year-old hitmaker released the track, Serena Joy, on limited-edition CDs at Analog Records in Orange County on August 21, and announced that it will be released digitally on August 24.

The song was inspired by the character of the same name from The Handmaid's Tale, a conservative activist who was ultimately oppressed by the very ideals she advocated.

All proceeds from the song will go toward supporting her upcoming women-led music festival on August 29.

The announcement took social media by storm, with fans praising Rodrigo's activism. "Olivia releasing a political song about women's rights right before her all-female festival... yeah I'm stanning her for life," one fan wrote, while others eagerly anticipated streaming the new track.
