Prince Harry's drive to prove himself has only grown after what he believed was the royals' effort to slow him down in his important mission. The Duke of Sussex, who had stepped down as a working royal back in 2020, did not abandon his flagship initiative, Invictus Games - a sporting event for wounded, sick and injured veterans.

The royals had supported the project in its initial stages but Harry has kept the momentum going. The King's letter confirming Harry and Meghan's status as 'private citizens' had prompted a controversy as Uganda withdrew from the Games in a bid to support the monarch. However, Charles intervened which led the country to reverse its decision.

It had been a 'huge kick in the teeth' when that letter was sent out and Harry believes that the 'pointed' move had 'William's fingerprints all over it', per a source cited by Woman's Day. 'But he's not letting it slow him down, he says it's only made him more determined to show everyone what he can do,' the source said of Harry's engagements.

'He's saying he's going to build on the momentum that he had when he was last in the UK and everyone was saying that he was a breath of fresh air and what the monarchy needs right now.' The Duke of Sussex will be attending the inaugural Invictus Spirit Awards in London on September 17 and the WellChild Awards in London on September 21.
