Princess Anne was given an unusually Scottish welcome during a visit to Fraserburgh. The Princess Royal arrived at Whitelink Seafoods Ltd on Monday morning, where locals had gathered around the Maxwell Place Industrial Estate leaving with flowers in one hand and fish in the other.

A flute band provided the soundtrack as Anne pulled up to the seafood company's headquarters in a Range Rover. She was greeted by Aberdeenshire Lord Lieutenant Sandy Manson before meeting members of the Sea Cadets, a fitting part of the visit given that Anne has served as their Admiral since 2021.

The Princess Royal then met flag-waving members of the public gathered in the car park before being taken inside for a tour of the Whitelink Seafood facility. Staff were also on hand for one of the day's official moments, as a commemorative plaque marking Anne's visit was unveiled at the site.

Anne appeared delighted by the gesture and was heard thanking those involved, calling it "very generous". The visit was warmly received by those at the company, with Sandy Manson praising the Princess Royal's enthusiasm for the business and its role in the local community.
