Kate Middleton stepped in to have peace talks with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after a 'threat' to the Waleses and the monarchy. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have seemingly shaken the royal family with their surprise return to the United Kingdom.
There have been talks that the Sussexes' public appearances in the UK and their charitable work may 'overshadow' the Prince and Princess of Wales' day-to-day engagements. After King Charles called Harry and Meghan 'private citizens,' the Sussexes are allowed to do 'whatever' they want to, as per reports.
However, this could be 'disastrous' for the future King and Queen. Now to settle this years-long rift, an insider told New Idea that Princess Kate may sit down for an important discussion with Harry about his and Meghan's future plans to avoid clashes.
'Kate can't forgive or forget how Harry and Meghan have treated her over the past few years,' the source shared. 'But for the sake of peace, she is open to having an informal meeting with Harry to discuss the way forward. A Kate-Harry peace plan is on the cards.'
Notably, William and Catherine are still furious and upset over the 'allegations' made by the Sussexes, but Kate is looking at the bigger picture. 'She and William have more to lose by icing out the Sussexes - and she is quietly thinking about how a potential meeting could be the only way forward,' shared the source.
