Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Reiterates Demand For Imran's Hospitalization, Medical Access

ed its demand for the party's founder, Imran Khan, to be shifted to a hospital for proper medical treatment in consultation with his doctors and family.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar said the party had repeatedly demanded that Imran be hospitalized, stressing that receiving medical treatment is his fundamental right. He noted it had been acknowledged before the Supreme Court that the PTI founder's blood pressure had risen and that he was on medication, adding that the party had received no independent information regarding his current health.

The presser came hours after Adiala jail authorities submitted a report to the Supreme Court stating that the PTI founder had received treatment from top ophthalmologists of Islamabad and Rawalpindi for an eye condition, and that one of his eyes had almost returned to normal. The report added that the former prime minister and his wife had been meeting every Tuesday under jail rules, with 84 meetings held so far, while lawyer Salman Safdar had met him on February 10 and April 4, 2026.

"We have repeatedly said that we do not politicise the health of the PTI founder," Barrister Gohar said, while demanding access for Imran's family and doctors after months of restricted meetings. He maintained that Aleema Khan and Imran's other sisters had every right to meet him, urging authorities to "stop this game of cat and mouse" and restore access blocked since last October.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi expressed deep concern over a "worrying" report regarding Imran's health. Afridi announced he would hold a detailed consultation with Imran's personal doctor before declaring the party's next course of action, questioning the discrepancy in blood pressure readings recorded in official reports compared to past examinations by Dr. Faisal and Dr. Asim.
