Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) Leaders Fine-Tune Strategy for September 27 Protest

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders on Friday held consultations with Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) Vice-Chairman Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri on a joint course of action for the party's September 27 long march and future political strategy.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and senior party leader Asad Qaiser met Allama Nasir, who is also Leader of the Opposition in the Senate and heads Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM). TTAP spokesman Akhunzada Hussain, MWM Chief Organiser Nasir Shirazi and PTI MNA Atif Khan were also present.

The leaders discussed the country's overall political situation, constitutional and democratic issues, and the September 27 protest call. They also exchanged views on future protest activities, the political agenda and coordination on a joint strategy.

Separately, a delegation from the Aurat Foundation and Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK) Pakistan called on Allama Nasir at Parliament House to discuss tobacco control and public health. The delegation comprised Aurat Foundation Director Programmes Mumtaz Mughal, Tobacco Control Programme Team Lead Syed Safdar Raza and Communication Officer Mehak Fatima Jafri, along with CTFK Pakistan Country Representative Anis Ahmed.

The meeting focused on the growing trend of smoking in the country, protecting young people from its harmful effects and promoting effective anti-tobacco policies. The delegation briefed the senator on ongoing initiatives and future strategies for tobacco control. Allama Nasir stressed the need for effective legislation and awareness campaigns to protect public health and discourage smoking.
