HYDERABAD/SUKKUR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Saturday vowed to reach Karachi "at all costs," alleging that certain elements were creating hurdles to prevent him from entering the city. He urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers to prepare for the party's 27 Sept protest, alleging that the federal and provincial governments had come to power by stealing the people's mandate.
Addressing a PTI rally at Haider Chowk, he criticised the ruling political families and questioned their business interests abroad. "Whose is Hyderabad?" he asked, drawing a response from workers: "Hyderabad belongs to Kaptan (Imran Khan)." Afridi alleged that the Punjab chief minister had said she had no issue with India but with the other three provinces.
Afridi also criticised the ruling political families, alleging that they had attacked parliament and state institutions whenever their interests were at stake. He claimed that political leaders had purchased apartments and islands abroad and that whenever they got an opportunity, they looted the country and left for foreign countries.
The KP chief minister alleged that two political families, one from Sindh and the other from Punjab, had kept power within their families. Afridi said Imran Khan was the only leader who gave opportunities to party workers, urging PTI workers to remain prepared for 27 Sept nationwide protest.
