Senate Na Sessions To Be Convened On Oct 1

The government has decided to summon the much-awaited sittings of the two houses of parliament separately on October 1. The National Assembly will remain in session for at least two weeks, where discussion and debate on the creation of new administrative units and new provinces will figure prominently. The summary for summoning the two houses will be submitted to the president in a couple of days.

The sources revealed that the government has no plan to bring about any constitutional amendment in the upcoming sittings of the two houses of parliament since no draft for the purpose has yet been readied. The sources indicated that no draft for the establishment of Islamabad as a provincial or administrative unit has been submitted to the secretariat of parliament. According to the speaker's secretariat, certain bills and a few ordinances would be placed before the House during the upcoming session.
