Sentence Suspension In 190m Case Bushra Moves Fcc For Early Hearing Of Her Plea

Former first lady Bushra Bibi has filed an application before the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) seeking an early hearing of her appeal for suspension of her sentence in the £190 million case. In the application filed on Thursday, she has requested that, in the interest of justice, her appeal be fixed for hearing during the week commencing September 21, 2026. She submitted that due to inadequate medical facilities in jail, her remaining eyesight and overall health are at serious risk.

It may be recalled that on January 17, 2025, the accused was sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment under the NAB Ordinance in the £190 million case on charges of abetment and aiding the offence. According to the petitioner, the continued delay in deciding the appeal is further deteriorating her health. Therefore, she has requested that the case be fixed for an early hearing.
