Hearing a petition against the suspects for using delaying tactics in the trial, a division bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC) headed by Justice Mohammad Iqbal Kalhoro directed the trial court to proceed with the proceedings expeditiously.
The trial court submitted a report to the SHC holding Armughan and his lawyer Khurram Abbas responsible for the delay.
The high court observed that the reasons cited for stalling the trial were unsatisfactory. The SHC directed the trial court to complete the Mustafa Amir murder case trial in accordance with the law, while issuing notices to Armughan and another suspect, Shiraz, over deliberate delays.
The court has sought a reply from both suspects by September 22.
