Steve Irwin's wife, Terri, shared a heartbreaking note to mark 20 years since the Crocodile Hunter's tragic death. On Friday, marking the 20th anniversary of his tragic death, Terri, 62, shared on Instagram that she has struggled with grief in the intervening years. 'After 20 years, grief still walks with me like my shadow,' Terri wrote.
Meanwhile, Terri also reflected on the last time the whole family was together before tragedy struck. 'We were together as a family, on our crocodile research expedition, for what was to be our final six weeks together. Ours was to be a long and sweet goodbye,' she remembered in her post.
'Steve spent time with Bindi and Robert building swings and climbing trees. I believe that all of us, every one of us, gets to say goodbye. We just may not know that we're saying it. Hold every moment dear with the ones you love. Until we meet again.'
It is pertinent to mention that Irwin died on September 4, 2006, during an encounter with a large stingray. Two decades after his death, Terri has not moved on and married again, having previously shared that she does not plan on finding another partner. Terri Irwin shares her two children, Bindi and Robert, with her late husband, having welcomed Bindi in 1998 and Robert in 2003 before Steve passed away in 2006.
