The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a recall for more than 15,000 squishy toys, identifying a potential fatal ingestion risk from water beads. The recall targets the Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toy by OKK Trading Inc. and the Squeezy Dumplings sold on Amazon by Chenyuanhui.
Both products contain water beads that pose an extreme hazard if swallowed by children. In its notice, the Consumer Product Safety Commission warned that ingesting a water bead can cause choking and intestinal obstruction, leading to severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, and the risk of death.
The translucent, round toys feature cartoon faces and are filled with glitter and water beads. Approximately 7,200 Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toys (model D08004) were sold, bearing the labels Rainbow MYSTERY and SUGAR EDITION.
Furthermore, the recall covers 8,000 GIHNJSI Squeezy Dumplings sold exclusively on Amazon.com between May and June 2026 for about 20 dollars, marked with SQUEEZY DUMPLINGS and SQUEEZE ME. No injuries have been reported so far, but authorities have urged parents to immediately take the toys away from children.
