Security forces foiled an infiltration attempt at the Pak-Afghan border, eliminating 15 terrorists in an engagement lasting 36 hours. On the night of August 31 and September 1, a group of Khwarij, belonging to the Indian-sponsored Fitna Al Khwarij, tried to sneak into North Waziristan District.
The troops engaged the terrorists, killing 15 of them and recovering a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition. The military's media wing stated that the incident once again spoke volumes about the abject failure of the Afghan Taliban regime to deny the use of their soil to terrorists.
The statement said that the Afghan Taliban regime has consistently failed to ensure effective border management and honor its international obligations. It further added that the security forces remain resolute in their unwavering commitment to defending the nation's frontiers from external threats.
A comprehensive sanitisation operation is currently underway in the area to eliminate any remaining Khwarij elements. Security officials reiterated that Pakistan's borders are secure and any nefarious designs against peace will be met with full force.
