MUZAFFARABAD: The newly elected Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Barrister Iftikhar Gilani, has announced the restoration of the region's entry and exit routes and internet services within the next two days.
Addressing the media during his first official visit to the Central Press Club after taking office, he confirmed that access points to AJK will be fully reopened in 48 hours. He noted that internet connectivity will be restored in a phased manner, with educational institutions receiving priority access in the initial phase.
Gilani highlighted good governance and the Kashmir freedom movement as the primary focus areas of his administration. He pledged swift action to resolve public issues, improve administrative efficiency, and guarantee essential civic facilities.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader was elected as AJK's 17th prime minister after securing 30 votes in the Legislative Assembly.
