Former American Idol star Antonella Barba has been arrested again after she was accused of shoplifting from a Target store. The 39-year-old singer was arrested on August 10 in Ocean Township, New Jersey. Police were called after she was reportedly seen hiding items in a bag while going between a fitting room and restroom. She, however, then tried to leave the store as police approached her outside and reportedly found the items in her bag. The items were said to be worth less than $200.

Barba has pleaded not guilty and will appear in court on November 18. This is the recent legal case of the former reality TV star. Barba became famous after appearing on American Idol in 2007 as she made it into the Top 16 before leaving the competition. But her life after the show has also been filled with legal trouble.

She was arrested for shoplifting in 2010 as well, and years later, she was sentenced to almost four years in prison in a fentanyl case. She was also arrested last year over a domestic violence case. In 2022, Barba admitted she made "some really bad choices" and said she wanted to make better choices moving forward.

Now, she is once again facing another legal battle as authorities pursue the latest retail theft charges against her. The ongoing legal issues continue to overshadow her brief stint in the entertainment spotlight from over a decade ago, drawing steady media attention across entertainment and news platforms.
