Princess Anne is marking a major milestone for Harper Adams University as the institution prepares to celebrate 125 years of agricultural education and innovation. The Princess Royal, who has served as the university's Chancellor since 2013, is set to attend the official launch of its anniversary celebrations on September 24.

The celebration comes more than a century after Harper Adams was founded in 1901, with its formal opening taking place on September 26 that year. It will run for 16 months, with events looking back at the university's history while highlighting its plans for the future.

Ian Rowley, Executive Director of Institutional Reputation and Engagement, said the university was honoured to have its Chancellor attend the launch. The celebrations come shortly after another agricultural engagement for Princess Anne.

Yesterday, she visited the International Fish Canners factory in Fraserburgh, the UK's only operational fish cannery. The facility specialises in canned mackerel fillets and sardines, giving her a look at another important part of the country's food production industry.
