Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and China's Vice Minister of Public Security Gao Qi on Wednesday discussed bilateral relations and formally agreed on strengthening mutual cooperation across counterterrorism, anti-narcotics operations and overall law enforcement.

During the high-level meeting, both officials agreed to expand joint police training exchange programs and facilitate modern technology and equipment to address emerging security concerns. A central outcome of the discussions was China's commitment to assist Pakistan in establishing a state-of-the-art law enforcement centre.

Describing the proposed facility as a significant milestone, Naqvi said the centre would serve as another bright symbol of the enduring Pakistan-China friendship. Highlighting the role of advanced technical solutions in modern policing, he noted that Chinese artificial intelligence-based technologies and equipment could offer critical support in tackling evolving security threats.

He emphasised Pakistan's desire to broaden internal security collaboration with China, reaffirming that heightened joint efforts remained essential to effectively counter shared regional challenges. Vice Minister Gao Qi praised Pakistan's ongoing commitment and substantial sacrifices in the global fight against terrorism, resolving to enhance practical cooperation between respective agencies.
