Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Member Gets Contract Extension Amid Bureaucracy Reshuffle

The federal government has issued orders for fresh appointments and transfers in the bureaucracy, along with an extension in the contract of a retired Grade-22 officer. According to separate notifications issued by the Establishment Division, Dr. Hamid Atiq Sarwar, a retired Grade-22 officer, has been granted a further one-year extension in his contract appointment as Member (Strategic Transformation) at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Headquarters, Islamabad. The extension is effective from August 18, 2026, for a period of one year.

Establishment Division Additional Secretary Syed Moazzam Ali has been assigned the current charge of Rector, National School of Public Policy (NSPP), Lahore, in addition to his existing responsibilities. Joint Secretary, Interior Division, Akhlaq Ahmed Qureshi has been transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division. Ijaz Ahmed Bajwa, who was at the disposal of the National School of Public Policy, has also been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary, Petroleum Division.

Asad Ali Khan, a Grade-19 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service currently serving under the Sindh government, has been transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division. Deputy Secretary, Establishment Division, Tahira Saleem has been posted as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Establishment Division in view of her proceeding abroad on educational leave for two years.

Meanwhile, the services of Dr. Saleha Syed, a medical officer in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department, have been placed at the disposal of the Federal Medical College, Islamabad, on deputation for three years. The services of Maria Hassan, a psychologist serving at a Government Special Education Centre under the Punjab government, have also been placed on deputation for three years. She will serve as a lecturer at the Federal Government Educational Institutions (Cantt and Garrisons) Directorate, Rawalpindi.
