The federal government has sought 23,500 personnel from provincial police forces for security arrangements across the capital. According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, 15,000 police personnel from Punjab, 8,000 from Sindh, and 500 from Balochistan will be deployed in Islamabad on September 20.

The decision comes in the wake of emerging security challenges and the need to maintain law and order during upcoming public gatherings and official events in the federal capital. Authorities have been tasked with coordinating logistics to ensure seamless transit and accommodation for the incoming contingents.

The federal government has directed relevant provincial authorities and police high-ups to make necessary arrangements for the timely deployment of the designated personnel.
