HYDERABAD: A 35-year-old Hindu trader, Naresh Kumar Kohistani, was found dead in his silver Suzuki Alto near the Christian graveyard in Gujrati Para on Friday, Tando Yousuf police officials said. According to the FIR registered on the complaint of the victim's father Isser Das, the trader had left home in Mir Hussainabad around noon on Friday, telling his family that he was going to the SITE Area.
When his phone was found switched off in the evening, the family traced the location of his vehicle through a tracking device and found that it had remained stationary at the same place for around three hours. The family and police reached the spot and found the man dead sitting in the driver's seat with multiple bullet wounds. Police sources said the trader had four bullet wounds.
His body was taken to the Civil Hospital Hyderabad for an autopsy before it was released to the heirs. Police registered FIR under sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code against unidentified persons on the complaint of the father of the deceased. Police sources said no spent bullet casings were found inside or near the vehicle.
Hyderabad SSP Shahzeb Chachar and the SHO concerned did not provide further details of the investigation. Sindh IGP Javed Alam Odho has sought a detailed report from the Hyderabad DIG, and ordered a transparent investigation.
