The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday restrained the issuance of an appointment letter for the registrar of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), while allowing the recruitment process to continue. Justice Khadim Hussain Somroo issued the written order on a petition filed by Engineer Khadim Hussain and directed that the recruitment process may proceed, but no appointment letter for the Registrar should be issued until further orders.

The court also sought replies from the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and other respondents and adjourned the hearing until September 29. Barrister Umar Ijaz Gilani appeared on behalf of the petitioner.
