King Frederik carried out a formal piece of diplomatic business at Christiansborg Palace on Wednesday. He received the new ambassadors of North Macedonia, South Africa, the Netherlands, Finland, Luxembourg, and Saudi Arabia.
The six diplomats travelled by carriage from Amalienborg to Christiansborg before entering the palace to meet the Danish monarch in the Throne Room. During their audiences, they formally presented their credentials to the King.
The Danish Royal House explains that foreign ambassadors must present credentials from the head of state they represent to the King before taking up their work in the country.
The palace's reception rooms were closed to the public on Wednesday because of an official event.
