A major marks manipulation scandal has been uncovered at the Abbottabad University of Science and Technology. Evidence has emerged of the alleged involvement of hackers, facilitators, and students who benefited from the alleged increase in students' marks through the university's examination system. The committee has held four individuals responsible for the scandal and identified eight others as facilitators.

An inquiry committee constituted to investigate the alleged manipulation of students' marks in the university's Learning Management System (LMS) has obtained evidence of unauthorized access, financial transactions, mobile messages, statements of students, and other electronic evidence. The committee has recommended that the inquiry be continued for another one to two months, that results from previous semesters be reviewed, and that a digital forensic examination be conducted for further investigation into the matter.

During the inquiry, the academic records of relevant students, including those enrolled in Computer Science and Software Engineering, as well as their access to the LMS, were examined. According to the committee, preliminary evidence indicates that certain individuals allegedly gained unauthorized access to the LMS and altered students' marks. Financial transactions have been included as significant evidence in the inquiry.

The committee examined various transaction receipts and account records, which reportedly showed transfers of money between students and alleged facilitators. The investigation record contains details of various electronic transactions, which the committee has recommended should be further examined alongside LMS records, statements of students, and other evidence. A preliminary inquiry has found evidence of the manipulation of the marks of 75 students who allegedly paid bribes, and the committee has recommended restoring original marks.
