Miley Cyrus is just Miley now... literally. The Flowers hit maker just made a power move on socials and fans are already anticipating singer's new era is loading. She changed her Instagram handle from @mileycyrus to simply @miley. Just her first name. To mark it, she posted a striking red-and-black portrait shot by Mert Alas to her 200M+ followers with the one-word caption: "MILEY." And it's not just her IG. Our official website got the same makeover. Done is "Cyrus." Now it's "Miley" in bold red and black, with a sign-up box teasing "more info coming." The look matches mysterious Spotify billboards that popped up in NYC earlier this month with big text that read "COMING SOON" - no artist name attached. Now fans can guess why.
The rebrand also comes right after news that Miley signed with Atlantic Records this summer. That makes Atlantic her 4th label. The Something Beautiful crooner started at Disney's Hollywood Records for her first 3 albums, then hit RCA for Bangerz and Plastic Hearts, and most recently put out Endless Summer Vacation and Something Beautiful with Columbia. Dropping the last name feels very on-brand for Miley. Less label, less last name, more her.
The Grammy winner fans are in utter surprise and shock after the rebranding as fans called the change "you guys have no idea how iconic this is. This is HER brand." Another added, "JUST MILEYYYYYY." Third chimed in: "MILEY THE LEGEND." Whether it's a new album, tour, or visual era - "MILEY" is clearly the message.
