The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Friday notified a Rs0.75 per unit increase in electricity tariffs nationwide under the monthly fuel cost adjustment, citing a variation in fuel charges for June 2026.
The regulator noted that the decision would be applicable to all consumer categories of K-Electric and ex-Wapda Discos, except lifeline consumers, electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) and pre-paid electricity consumers of all categories who opted for the pre-paid tariff.
Ex-Wapda Discos and K-Electric will reflect the fuel charges adjustment for June in electricity bills for August 2026, read the notification. The power regulator said that in exercise of the power conferred by the relevant provisions, the authority has made the adjustment on account of variation in fuel charges for the month of June 2026.
It further said that in light of policy guidelines issued by the federal government for the application of uniform FCAs on the consumers of K-Electric, the instant FCA of ex-Wapda Discos shall also be applicable to K-Electric consumers. Earlier, electricity tariffs across the country were increased by Re0.34 per unit under the monthly adjustment for May.
