The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday clubbed a petition seeking directions for a judicial inquiry into the Pims tragedy with an identical case and sought the report submitted to the prime minister along with details of action taken.
The court also directed the federal government to submit a detailed response, including an explanation as to why no action had been taken on the report of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Health regarding Pims issued last year.
Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar heard the petition filed by a citizen, Munir Ahmed. During the hearing, Chief Justice Dogar observed that the court had already passed an order in a similar petition and decided to club the instant case with the earlier pending matter.
The court adjourned further proceedings after clubbing the petition with the previously pending case, directing the relevant authorities to submit comprehensive replies before the next date of hearing to ensure transparency and accountability in the institution.
