Royal families across Europe appear to be navigating a challenging period, particularly as Britain's King Charles continues his battle with cancer and Norway's elderly monarch, King Harald V, remains in serious condition. Amid this ongoing royal turmoil, the Prince and Princess of Monaco have issued a statement regarding a devastating tragedy that struck the mountainous border between Nepal and China's Tibet Autonomous Region on Wednesday following catastrophic flash floods and mudslides.

In a joint statement, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco expressed their condolences for the lives lost and solidarity with those affected by the natural disaster. "Princess Charlene and I wish to express our profound sorrow at the terrible disaster currently affecting the border between Nepal and the Chinese region of Tibet," the English translation of the French text stated.

"In these painful hours, my family and the people of Monaco join me in extending our sincere condolences to the bereaved families and expressing our full solidarity with the Nepalese people and all those affected," the statement continued. "We commend the dedication of rescue teams mobilized in particularly difficult conditions and hope that search operations will lead to the swift recovery of those still missing." The statement was signed by Prince Albert.

More than 900 people remain missing, while at least 332 fatalities have been reported in Nepal as rescue and relief operations continue across the affected mountainous regions.
