Prince William and Princess Kate, who moved into their 'forever home' Forest Lodge nearly a year ago, had just returned from their Scottish summer break when they received a concerning update.
A warning has been issued for the residents of Windsor Great Park, especially near the vicinity of Forest Lodge, as it is surrounded by diverse wildlife including deer. Around this time of the year, locals have to take extra precautions as deer rutting (also known as deer breeding) happens in the autumn.
Locals are warned about the wild animals that have been known to "fight for territory." Given that the Wales children are known to enjoy outdoor sports, this could be a cause for concern. "Keep to the main tracks," a notice said. "Dogs must be kept on a short lead and under close control at all times. Keep your distance - binoculars or a long-range lens are essential. Do not approach or follow the deer."
Another warning has been given about ticks, which are active all year round. There is a whole page dedicated to guiding people and avoiding any harm. "These parasites sustain themselves by latching onto larger animals and consuming their blood," it reads. "The UK is home to various tick species, some of which carry bacteria capable of transmitting diseases to humans and dogs. Although active throughout the year, you are most likely to see them between spring and autumn."
