The Punjab Assembly is set to meet today with a heavily loaded agenda, featuring the laying of two ordinances, introduction of legislation relating to the criminal prosecution service, and presentation of a large number of audit reports covering government departments, local bodies and public-sector entities. The session will start at 2pm. The Question-Hour will relate to the Cooperatives Department, with members scheduled to seek answers from the concerned minister. Call Attention Notices, listed separately, will also be taken up for oral replies. Five adjournment motions have been placed on the agenda including Motion No.391/26 concerning the Board of Revenue and the Local Government and Community Development Department, Motion No.393/26 relating to the Communication and Works Department, Motion No.398/26 concerns Local Government and Community Development while Motion No.403/26 concerning Higher Education and Motion No.408/26 relates to Services and General Administration.

A minister will lay the Provincial Motor Vehicle (Third Amendment) Ordinance 2026 (IX of 2026) and the Asset Management Authority of Punjab Ordinance 2026 (X of 2026) before the house. The government will also introduce the Punjab Criminal Prosecution Service Inspectorate (Amendment) Bill 2026. A sizeable batch of audit reports is also scheduled to be laid, bringing under scrutiny accounts and performance of various provincial departments, local governments and public-sector organisations.

The reports include the accounts of the Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department for 2018-19, Municipal Committees of Punjab (South) for 2019-20 and 2020-21, District Councils of Punjab (South) for 2019-20, Municipal Corporations of Punjab (South) for 2019-20 and 2020-21, Public Sector Companies of Punjab (South) for 2019-20 and 2020-21, District Health Authorities and District Education Authorities of Punjab (South) for 2020-21 and Public Sector Companies and Local Governments of Punjab (North) for 2023-24.

Also to be laid are reports on Daanish Schools and Centres of Excellence Punjab (South) for 2020-21, District Health and Education Authorities and Daanish Schools of Punjab (North) for 2024-25, Climate Change, Environment and Disaster Management organisations for 2024-25, provincial expenditure and revenue receipts for 2024-25 and the works-related accounts of the Communication and Works, Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering, Irrigation, Local Government and Community Development and Energy departments, besides PGSHF, IDAP, CDA and PDS&CEA, for 2024-25. Appropriation accounts reports for the Government of Punjab for 2019-20 and the Forest Department for 2023-24 are also on the agenda. The house will also take up a series of annual reports, including those of the Election Commission of Pakistan for 2019, 2021 and 2024, and biannual monitoring reports on implementation of the National Finance Commission Award covering several periods between 2011 and 2024. Annual reports of the Punjab Information Commission for 2024-25, Punjab Pension Fund for 2021-22 and 2022-23, and Punjab General Provident Investment Fund for the same two financial years will also be laid. The sitting will finally provide members an opportunity to raise matters of immediate importance under Rule 113-A of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab.
