As many as 10 militants belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Khwarij were killed from September 15-17, 2026 in multiple engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while six brave sons of the soil paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat. Following reports of militant presence, an intelligence-based operation was conducted by the security forces in North Waziristan District. During the operation, the troops engaged the militants' location and, after an intense exchange of fire, killed six of them.
In another encounter in Hangu District, the troops neutralised four more militants. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the militants, who had remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area. On September 17, 2026, an improvised explosive device hit a security forces convoy, claiming the lives of six brave sons of soil who rendered the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat.
Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other militants found in the area.
