Solar Pakistan 2026 Opens In Karachi With Over 350 Companies

Solar Pakistan 2026 opened at the Expo Centre Karachi on Friday. Organised by Fakt Exhibitions (Pvt) Ltd, the three-day event will continue until October 11 and bring together more than 350 companies from 15 countries.

Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Senior Vice-President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony. He appreciated the organisers' efforts and stressed the importance of switching to alternative energy.

"Solar energy is no longer a distant aspiration. It is already lowering costs for households, powering farms and small businesses, and strengthening our industries.

Events like Solar Pakistan bring together the knowledge and technology needed to expand this progress across Sindh and the country," he said. He urged the private sector, innovators, academia, and policymakers to work together to help Sindh lead Pakistan's transition to clean energy.

Saleem Khan Tanoli, Chief Executive Officer of Fakt Exhibitions, said Pakistan was at a turning point in its energy transition, with solar power playing an increasingly important role in efforts to achieve a sustainable and affordable energy future. He said Sindh is well-placed to lead the transition because of its abundant sunshine, coastline, and industrial base, adding that Karachi provided a platform for industry, government, and technology providers to work together to accelerate the adoption of alternative energy.

The exhibition showcases the latest advancements in photovoltaic technology, energy storage solutions, and smart grid systems. Industry experts believe that such platforms are essential for bridging the gap between international technology providers and local stakeholders.

As Pakistan continues to face energy challenges, the shift toward renewable sources is being viewed as a strategic necessity rather than an option. The event serves as a hub for networking and business-to-business interactions.

Participants at the event expressed optimism regarding the future of the solar market in Pakistan, citing the growing interest from both residential and commercial sectors. The exhibition is expected to attract thousands of visitors, including engineers, investors, and students, over the course of its three-day duration.
