Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Syed Fakhar Jehan on Tuesday said the provincial government was taking practical steps to strengthen educational institutions and provide quality education and facilities to the younger generation.

He was speaking at a meeting during his visit to the University of Buner, where he discussed academic development and institutional issues with the university administration, faculty members and relevant officials.

A handout stated that the meeting reviewed measures for improving the academic environment, addressing students' concerns, promoting research activities and implementing future development plans for the university.

The provincial minister said universities were centres of knowledge, research and innovation, and their development was essential for the province's progress, adding that strengthening higher education institutions, including the University of Buner, was among the government's top priorities. He assured the administration that its issues would be taken up at relevant forums and resolved promptly.
