Three brothers were killed and their relative was injured when an improvised explosive device (IED), allegedly planted by unidentified militants, exploded near Killi Bakhtiar Khan in the Luni area of Duki district, police said.
According to police, the victims - Rahmatullah, Daurani, and Niamatullah, sons of Sultan - were travelling with their relative Atiqullah, son of Maulvi Naik Muhammad, towards their agricultural fields when their vehicle came under attack while passing through a stream. The underground IED exploded, killing the three brothers on the spot and injuring Atiqullah.
Following the incident, local police and security forces reached the area and shifted the bodies and the injured person to a nearby hospital. After completing legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to the grieving family.
Duki Superintendent of Police (SP) Mansoor Ahmed Buzdar confirmed that the attack was carried out using an IED. He added that a comprehensive search operation had been launched in the area to trace and arrest those responsible for the carnage.
