Streaming customers face a crucial Tuesday deadline to file claims in a $50 million antitrust settlement. The case stemmed from a lawsuit filed by subscribers against entertainment conglomerate Disney, which also owns Hulu, ESPN, and Disney+, facing allegations that it pushed live-streaming subscription prices higher.
Though Disney has disputed all allegations and admitted no wrongdoing, it reached an agreement to pay $50 million to settle the claims brought by streaming subscribers across the U.S. The settlement applies to anyone who paid for an eligible live TV streaming subscription between 2019 and March 31, 2026.
To qualify, subscribers in the impacted class must have received an email or postcard with a Unique ID and PIN required to submit their online claim. Qualified subscribers for the settlement will receive a cash payout based on the duration of their subscription.
However, subscribers will not receive payments until the settlement receives final approval from the court, with the final approval hearing for the antitrust settlement scheduled for January 14, 2027.
